Can Express avoid a fifth successive defeat? Here’s all the Uganda Premier League action

December 13, 2022

Uganda Premier League side Express will be hoping for the best as they take on in-form Vipers at the Muteesa II stadium in Wankulukuku.

This game will go down today at 4pm. And according to the under pressure Express coach, James Odoch, it’s unacceptable for the Red Eagles to lose a 5th consecutive game.

Odoch says that despite Vipers having the upper hand, they will do everything to stop the Kitende based side from taking all the maximum points.

“Vipers are the defending champions and they are one of the best-performing teams in the league so far and it will therefore be a difficult game,” said James Odoch.

“But we find ourselves in a tough position losing four games is already worse off meaning we can’t afford to lose a fifth. Vipers is a good team right from the coaches to the players but we are going to be playing from home so we have to use the advantage to win the game and get back the confidence of the team.”

Express will be buoyed by the return of Allan Kayiwa from injury and he’s likely to start against his former side.

Vipers will also welcome back defender Murushid Juuko after he didn’t play against Onduparaka.

There will also be another game in Njeru as BUL hosts KCCA.

The Kasasiro boys are currently top of the table on 25 points while BUL are third with 23 points.

A win therefore will be vital to each side as BUL would move above KCCA to the top spot while a win for KCCA will help them cement their place at the top.

KCCA manager Morley Byekwaso is well aware of the threat posed by BUL at their home turf.

“They are among the most organised teams in the country with good coaches and players,” said Isabirye. “But we have belief and want to improve and compete with the best and so we shall give it all to win the game although it will be a difficult challenge,” said Byekwaso.

“They have beaten every team at their home and so we must be careful and execute the game plan well,” he told the club media.

“They are aggressive in attack and compact in the way they defend so we must diffuse them and limit their shots on goals,” he added

This game will be played today at 2pm at the FUFA Njeru technical center.

The other game will be between Soltilo Bright Stars and Wakiso Giants.

It will be played at Kavumba Recreational Grounds at 4pm.
