News sources coming in indicate that the situation at Wankulukuku based Uganda Premier League side, Express FC has gone from bad to worse.
According to NBS Sport, players and other staff at the club have now gone three months without pay.
This has in turn forced some coaches at the club to throw in their towels to go and make ends meet somewhere else.
This can partly explain why the club has been performing poorly on the pitch.
The Red Eagles have now gone six games without a win after thier o-o draw with Vipers yestrerday.
This is not the first time Express is getting embroiled in a financial crisis.
The club was a few years ago on the brink of collapse and relegation till former chilrdren’s minister now presidential advisor Ms Nakiwala Florence Kiyingi stepped in as the club’s patron.
She pumped cash into the team and it went back to the top eventually winning the 2019/20 UPL trophy and the CECAFA Kagame cup.
Disagreemtns crept ito the club and they ended up firing their title winning coach Wasswa Bbosa and reolaced him with his assistant James Odoch.
Express also last season saw a massive exodus of their well established and experienced players in favor of the younger talents as they said that they are building for the future.
Meanwhile fiances have been part of the biggest enemy in the development of Ugandan football with a case in point being the recent announcement by FUFA how the Uganda Cranes was being withdrawn from the upcoming CHAN tournament due to lack of funds.
