News sources coming indicate that finally the Uganda Cranes will he able to participate in the 2023 CHAN tournament in Algeria.
It should be recalled that an up-scare this week engulfed the national team and Ugandans at large after the FUFA president Eng Moses Magogo revealed that FUFA was taking the hard decision of withdrawing the team from the tournament.
He cited financial constraints as the major reason as to why this happening.
According to Magogo, Parliament had released the money but FUFA hadn’t received it from the Ministry of Finance and the National Council of Sports.
Consequently an investigation was launched into NCS after several sporting bodies accused NCS of massive corruption, fraud and embezzlement.
It now seems the team has received clearance for the tournament.
UBC accredited journalist Otai Peter revealed that the Uganda Cranes will take part and the tournament will be live on UBC.
Uganda is placed in Group B alongside the likes of Senegal, DR Congo and Ivory Coast.
The team was originally scheduled to enter camp on the 23rd of December as the tournament begins from January to February.
