December 22, 2022
Uganda Premier League side URA FC have parted ways with their talented captain, Shafik Kuchi Kagimu on a bad note.
Kagimu had recently signed a two year contract extension. But the two parties failed to agree and solve out amicably undisclosed matters.
This forced the tax collectors to nullify his contract.
Shafik Kagimu was in his 7th season at the club and one of the longest serving members at just 24 years.
The Uganda Cranes international barely stepped onto the pitch for the club this season.
This saw him lose his captaincy to goalkeeper, Nafian Alionzi.

It should be recalled that this season alongside teammates Derrick Nsibambi and winger Joachim Ojera, Kagimu rejected the club’s proposal of a pay cut.
These also disagreed with the way the club is being run.

This forced URA to keep them off the field although Nsibambi later on returned to the pitch.
Taking to his Twitter page, Kagimu made an update showing that the club had not appreciated his services and it was therefore time he sought a new challenge.
