Proline FC proprietor Mujib Kasule has revealed why Uganda Cranes under French coach Sébastien Desabre used to play good football.

According to Mujib, Desabre gave the Cranes players confidence that they could actually play some good attacking football.

However, the current Cranes under Micho is afraid to attack because they put all the emphasis on defense.

“Coach Sébastien Desabre gave the players the belief that we could play attacking football. However nowadays when you see Players playing for the Cranes they are very scared because they put alot of emphasis in the defense,” said Mujib Kasule while appearing on NBS Sport.

The former KCCA player also added that Uganda has some amazing players.

They however lack the intelligence to play the game.

Mujib also added that one of the National team’s problems is structure.

The team is yet to learn how to manage games.

“We have some many talented players in the country but they lack the intelligence to play the game.

We have structural issues in the national team because we still don’t know how to manage games,” added Mujib.

Further Mujib also gave his views about the ongoing CHAN tournament.

According to Mujib, this is a tournament to breed home grown talent.

He therefore thinks everyone who plays in the local league should be given a chance.

“CHAN is a developmental tournament that’s why countries like Egypt use the younger players. I think everybody who plays in the local league should be given an opportunity.”

The Cranes played their first game in the CHAN tournament as the game ended in a goalless draw against DR Congo.

They will play Senegal next on Wednesday 18th 2023.
