Danish top side signs Crested Cranes captain Phiona Nabbumba

Phiona Nabbumba the captain of the women’s national football team, the Crested Cranes has been signed by Danish side Boldklubben af 1893.

This was confirmed by the club through their social media handles.

Nabbumba who plays as a midfielder has been playing for She Corporates FC.

She helped them to the league title last season.

They were also enroute to qualifying for the Women’s CAF Champions League but were cut shot by Tanzania’a Simba Queens.

The player was also voted last season’s MVP.

She will also be wearing jersey number 3 amd can’t wait to get started.

“It’s pleasure for me to become part of the club. First of all, it is a big club with big ambitions. My hopes for the time here are high”.

” It is the first time l play in a club outside my Country. My expectations are to guide the team to titles. lam ready to work hard with my teammates so that we win and win trophies”.

Boldklubben coach Rasmus described her as an experienced player who will be vital to the team.

“She won the league last season with She Corporate and was voted player of the season. All within last season “.

” So She is a player with really good experience from international football that we are adding to the squad and hopefully she will be a player with alot of impact who can help us achieve even more”.

The move makes her the second Ugandan to play for the Danish club after Vanessa Karungi who also signed from She Corporates last year.
