KCCA fans attempt to beat up players and officials after stalemate with Blacks Power

April 6, 2023

A section of KCCA fans who had traveled to support their team against the team ended up turning violent at the Aki Bua stadium in Lira. They wanted to beat up their players and match officials as the game ended 1-1.

Blacks Power found the back of the net as early as the 7th minute through Robert Eseru. However the Kasasiro Boys found the back of the net through Denis Iguma after he headed in Alllan Okello‘s cross.

It was KCCA’s goalkeeper Derrick Ochan who kept his side in the game as he made a couple of decent saves to keep KCCA in the game.

Muhammad Shaban, Saidi Mayanja and Usana Arafat all came close to bagging the points for Morley Byekwaso’s side but couldn’t convert their chances.

The result left KCCA 3 points behind table leaders, SC Villa who have 40. The Jogoos have however played 2 more games than thier fierce archrivals.

Morley Byekwaso urged his players to pull up their socks. He however said that the month his team spent without playing has affected them.

However, he added that this is not an excuse for the points that were dropped. Further, he also blamed the lack of individual brilliance and match fitness affecting them.

All in all, he said that the confidence that they lack as a team will be bult slowly and they will be back in contention.
