KCCA aiming for first win against URA after Morley Byekwaso resignation

April 19, 2023

KCCA will be hoping to returning to winning ways as they take on URA FC today in the Uganda Premier League. This will be the club’s first game since head coach Morley Byekwaso resigned this week.

The Kasasiro boys will hope to come back with maximum points from Lugazi. A win will see them close down the gap on table leaders SC Villa but with a game in hand.

Apparently KCCA hasn’t won a game in their last 3 outings. All have been draws and they hope to overturn this today.

On the other hand URA have won two and drawn one in their last three games. The tax collectors lie in 5th with 30 points. The first game ended in a draw for both sides at the Philip Omondi stadium in Lugogo.

Kaddu Badru Mukasa who has been Byekwaso’s assistant will be in charge for this game.

Apparently URA has the upper hand in this fixture over KCCA.

“In the last 25 games between both sides, KCCA FC has won 7 games, URA FC has won 11.

Both sides have shared spoils seven in the last 25 games

Each side has scored 32 goals in the last 25 games..”

Speaking ahead of the clash, Badru said that “We are fully focused on the Uganda Premier League as it is the only competition we are left to fight for this season. We will not have Haruna Lukwago and Brian Majwega who are out due to illness. However, we have enough replacements to fill the void and we will have a team ready to compete against URA FC.”
