Shock as 2021-22 champions She Corporates are relegated

May 1, 2023

It was an epic day in the FUFA Women Super League as teams took to the last game of the 2022-23 season. Among the shockers of the day was She Corporates getting relegated.

This was after a 2-2 draw with Kawempe Muslims. The 2021-22 league champions came into the game well knowing they were hanging by a thread.

She Corporates started the game brightly after 2 goals from from Ithungu and Nabbale gave them a half time lead. The Sharks who have been poor all season however couldn’t safeguard their lead.

Kawempe Muslim pulled one back through  Nabukenya in the 73rd minute. 7 minutes later, substitute, Nalukoda leveled matters for the visitors.

And having bottled this 2-0 lead, they were relegated to the Elite league for the 2023-24 season. Olila High School also got relegated after being beaten 3-0 by Uganda Martyrs.

On Kabojja, Kampala Queens were crowned the winners of the league. Resty Nanziri scored late for Kampala Queens in a one all draw against Lady Doves after Joan Nagadya’s first half strike.

Apparently Kampala Queens were declared champions with a remainder of 4 games. They finished with 47 points from 18 games.

Kampala Queens will therefore represent Uganda in the CAF Women’s champions League zonal qualifiers. These will be hosted by Uganda.
