Two Ugandan players will be clashing off in the last 4 of the CAF Confederations Cup.
And these will be none other than Khalid Aucho and Ismail Watenga. Aucho’s Yanga will take to the competition semi finals for the first time ever.
The Tanzanians were able to eject Nigeria’s River United in a 2-0 win over two legs. Fiston Mayele gave Yanga a 2-0 lead in Nigeria.
And a return leg over the weekend in Tanzania at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam ended goalless.
The semifinals will now see two Ugandans clash. Yanga will be playing Marumo Gallants.
The South African side knocked out Egyptian side Pyramids FC by an aggregate of 2-1.
A 1-1 first leg was played out in Cairo before Marumo won 1-0 in the return leg. Either of the two will be able to play in the finals.
Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosas and Algeria’s US Alger will play out the other semi final.
According to the CAF schedule, the first leg is set to go down on 10th May and the second leg on 17th May.
