Startimes UPL: Maroons defeat SC Villa to freeze their chances of winning Uganda Premier League title

Yet again SC Villa lost to Maroons 1-0 freezing their chances of winning 2022/2023 Uganda Premier League title.

The loss stands as the 3rd in the last 4 games for the Jagoos.

Maroons captain Ronald Orombi was the only difference as his goal decided the fate of the game.

Ronald Orombi striked home in the 32nd minute as he replied well to Deogratious Ojok cut back pass.

Charles Bbaale, Ivan Bogere, Travis Mutyaba and Joseph Kafumbe all came close for an equaliser but we’re denied by goalkeeper Tamale who had a good day in office.

In other games, Bright stars had no mercy on 10 men Busoga United as they gifted them 2-0 defeat at Kavumba.

The results means SC Villa remained on top with 46 points from 25 games, they are 1 and 4 points above KCCA and Vipers respectively though they have played more games.

On the other side, Maroons moved to 5th place with 36 points from 24 games.

Their next game will be against Gaddafi at Kakindu on Tuesday 9th while the very day SC Villa will be Versing Blacks Power at Wankulukuku.
