URA FC footballer Abdallah Salim goes missing for 3 months

June 12, 2023

Midfielder Salim Abdallah has been sacked by Uganda Premier League side Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC). This is after he went 3 months AWOL.

Despite attempts to reach out to him via phone calls and emails, the player couldn’t be accessed. It was upon this that URA decided to terminate his contract. He’s therefore breached a number of articles in his contract.

“URA FC can officially confirm that midfielder Salim Abdallah’s contract with the club has been terminated with immediate effect,” a statement from the club confirmed.

“This is after the player went AWOL on 3rd March 2023 without official permission from the club and failure to heed calls and emails from the club officials.

Ever since, he is yet to return to date, which amounts to a breach of some articles in his contract and thus termination.”

The midfielder joined the tax collectors at the start of the just concluded 2022-23 season from SC Villa on a free transfer. Salim had penned a 2 year deal and had one year remaining.
