Is it racism? Nottingham Forest defender Harry Toffolo goes unpunished for more cases than Ivan Toney
September 14, 2023
Social media users have been left in disbelief after the FA let Nottingham Forest defender Harry Toffolo go unpunished for almost doubt the charges that they punished Brentford striker Ivan Toney for.
Harry Toffolo was given a five-month ban by the Football Association after admitting 375 breaches of betting rules. This ban however is suspended until the 2024-25 season as he was also fined £20,956.
He committed these offenses a staggering 375 times between 22 January 2014 and 18 March 2017.
Toffolo in that time played for clubs such as Norwich City and played on loan for Swindon, Rotherham, Peterborough and Scunthorpe.
Apparently he featured for the Forest 21 times last season following his move from Huddersfiled Town.
For Toney, he breached 232 breaches of the FA’s betting rules and his ban was immediately activated. Ivan Toney was banned for 8 months and also from training with the Brentford team until September 17th.
This has left some football fans on social media fuming about this issue and many pointed out the race factor as crucial to the sentences being handed out.
