Sheilah Gashumba campaigns for father in-law to get Uganda Cranes job

September 15, 2023

Socialite and media personality Sheilah Gashumba has taken to her social media accounts to campaign for her father in law, Kabuye Patrick to take over the Uganda Cranes job.

It should be noted that FUFA revealed how it had parted ways with Serbian coach, Milutin Sredojevic aka Micho after 2 years in charge. There have now been calls from some sections of the public to hire a native coach.

Sheilah took to her Twitter (X) page amd paraded Kabuye as the perfect candidate. She went ahead to list some of his qualities such as having a UEFA A License. Apparently this enables him to handle European teams and Sheilah believes that he and the Cranes would be a perfect match.

“Yes, they should give a chance to a Ugandan coach. I believe Mr. Kabuye Patrick will do a great job, he has a UEFA category A licence that makes him eligible to handle professional European football teams so why not Uganda cranes?!”

Whereas some agreed with her take, others disagreed with it. Some even pointed out how she’s saying this out of excitement since Kabuye Patrick is the father to her boyfriend, Rickman.

For the critics, the former NBS TV After 5 presenter pointed out that Rickman’s mother is the assistant coach of the She Cranes and this hasn’t stopped them from performing brilliantly.

For now, FUFA hasn’t communicated how it will move about the vacancy of the Uganda Cranes job. The Cranes will be back in action in November as they take on Guinea in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
