England captain and Bayern Munich made history last night as his side cruised past Vfl Bochum in the German Bundesliga. The former Tottenham Hotspurs Striker scored a hat-trick as he also provided 2 assists in Bayern Munich’s biggest win since August 2022 which was also against Bochum.
Cameroonian striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting opened the scoring in the fourth minute. Kane netted in the 12th minute before Mathijs De Light and Leroy Sane in the 29th and 38th minutes extended the Bavarians lead.
Kane was on the scoresheet again in the 54th minute through the penalty spot while Mathijs Tel netted Thomas Tuchel’s side to give them a 6th.
Kane completed his hat-trick in the 88th minute but had to wait for a VAR check to clear a possible offside in the buildup to the goal.
The Englishman has now scored 7 goals in his first 5 Bundesliga games which is a club record.
“It’s been a really good start so far. I thought we had a really good game today — not just me but the whole team,” Kane said.
“We were really switched on mentally. You know, these games can be tough but we made it look fairly easy there. I’m excited and I’m loving every minute here with the team, with the club, with the fans, and obviously being here, at home, to score a hat trick is a special feeling.”
Meanwhile this achievement saw him beat the likes of Gerd Muller (1965), Miroslav Klose (2007) and Mario Mandzukic (2012).
Bayern Munich already look favorites to land the Bundesliga for an 11th straight time. The lead the table with 13 points after just 5 games. They will be back in action on Tuesday in the DFB Pokal cup against Preußen Münster.
