The debate about who is better between footballing superstars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo is one that seems will live on and even eclipse our eternity. It has drawn all levels of debates and arguments in who the better footballer is.
Former footballers and current footballers have always come out to express their opinions on who is the best. And the Argentinean seems to always edge out the Portuguese.
Some even see this debate as a forced one and one which is as clear as day and night. Messi has many aspects of the game that he’s far superior than Ronaldo. Not to take anything away from the Al Nassr footballer, but Messi is just a pure natural born talent.
For Ronaldo, it’s a hybrid of talent and high levels of hard work and self discipline. Ghanaian footballer Kevin Prince Boateng who played with Messi at Barcelona has had his say on the two.
On a podcast hosted by former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, Boateng recalled a certain incident. Apparently he grew up supporting Real Madrid.
When the Catalans signed him, they told him to say that Barcelona is the best club. There is no way he was allowed to say that the Los Blancos are better.
Furthermore, he expressed he was asked on who was the better player in the world between Messi and Ronaldo. The former AC Milan midfielder said that he had answered this question while he was at Las Palmas.
Boateng said that Ronaldo was the best player in the world while Lionel Messi was the best player in the galaxy. Ronaldo fans accounts on Twitter have however taken the video out of context.
They cropped out the part where the footballer said that Messi is the best player in the galaxy. Apparently, they make it seem like he was forced to pick Messi over Ronaldo.
However, this has been a practice with Real Madrid. Footballers like Vini Jr, Jude Bellingham all adored Messi but changed their statement the day they joined the 14 Champions League winners
