Fred Amaku score late to gift Maroons maximum points at Lugogo

Fred Amaku shined when his Maroons side were defeating KCCA FC at MTN Omondi Stadium.

Amaku scored a late 80th minute that maximized points for his side Maroons FC.

In a game that was played at flood lights with both teams having support of fans, a few difference could separate the two sides in the opening 20 minutes.

In the 26th minute, Fred Amaku broke the deadlock for the visitors.

Mohamed Shaban equalised for KCCA in the 45th minute. This was after Maroons’ players failed to clear up danger that was from a corner kick.

KCCA FC appeared to be a superior team in the second half, though couldn’t create scoring chances that would them a winner.

Instead, it was Maroons FC that was about to score the winner in the 70th minute but Peter Magambo made a goal line clearance to keep his side in the game.

Apparently a few minutes later, KCCA FC were awarded a penalty following a hand ball incidence.

With a rare case, Usama Arafat took the responsibility but couldn’t convert instead his effort hit a cross bar.

Furthermore in, the 80th minute, Maroons utilised their free kick chance to score the winner.

It was Tusubira who took it and then forced KCCA FC’S Custodian Juma Mutebi a save. Amaku rebounded in after KCCA FC’S defenders failed to clear up.

The pressure continues to pile on KCCA FC’S head coach Sergio Daniel Moniz Traguil. He isn’t delivering despite his team playing well.

It was the second consecutive league defeat for KCCA FC who lost their opening game to BUL FC.

KCCA FC will next play Express FC on 8th October 2023 at MTN Omondi Stadium.
