Reports coming in indicate that Brentford striker, Ivan Toney is keen on a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window. Mikel Arteta is also said to be a huge fan of the 27 year old.
With the Gunners boss keen to bolster his squad in the winter transfer window, it’s expected that Arsenal will be busy. Toney Was given an 8 month ban by the English FA for breaching the betting rules of the league.
This ban will expire in January and he’s willing to make a move to North London. Ivan Toney is a known fan of the Gunners and convincing him of Arsenal go ahead with the plan won’t be a problem.
However, Brentford are said to be wanting about £60m pounds for their top scorer from last season. Clubs such as Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspurs have also expressed interest in signing the England International.
Arsenal’s attacking options currently include Gabriel Jesus and Eddi Nketiah. However both have not been so consistent yet the Gunners want a forward who can score goals on a daily.
Jesus has been played out of position in a couple of games. Nketiah’s performances are not so convincing of a striker leading a club to their first EPL trophy in 20 years.
