Sources coming in indicate that Ugandan football fans could be in for a big football event they have never witnessed as plans are underway to see whether the Uganda Cranes can play Leo Messi’s Argentina or Neymar’s Brazil.

Sources privy to the matter indicate that FIFA is hatching a masterpiece of a plan to see a friendly take place between the East African country and one of the World Cup winning Nations.

This would be in commemoration of the FUFA Centenary Celebrations in 2024. The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) is set to celebrate 100 years since it’s inception in 1924.

Without a doubt, this would be the biggest sporting event ever to happen in the East African country. According to local sports publication, Pulse Uganda, meetings within the FUFA Executive Committee are already underway in handling this program.

Apparently plans of these centennial celebrations are stil underway. With plans still underway, FUFA is set to reach out to these countries and find out what will be necessary to effect this grand plan.

However, in case this doesn’t come to fruition, FUFA has lined up other alternatives. These include European countries such as England, Germany, Italy and France.

Just imagine the sights of football superstar like Lionel Messi, Neymar, Angel Di Maria, Gabriel Jesus, Kylian Mbappe, Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz serenading the streets of Kampala if FUFA manages to successfully agree with one of these nations.

Furthermore, the Cranes have never played a game of such a magnitude. The closet they came was playing against the Alem Brazilian side in July 2009.

Apparently the game attracted over 15,000 fans and the Cranes triumphed with a 4-1 win. This Brazilian side had Paulo Sergio a 1994 Brazil World Cup winning hero.

Additionally, there is a fascinating tale of how the Uganda Cranes in 1956 beat UK ‘s Olympic team 2-1.
