Xavi’s Job Under Pressure As Joan Laporta Sends Warning. It seems like Barcelona coach and legend Xavi Hernandez‘ job could be under pressure after the club president, Joan Laporta sent out a stark warning.
Laporta said that if the Catalan club doesn’t win titles, there would be definitely be consequences. Fierce and unpleasant decisions would have to be made.
However, for now, these decisions might not be necessary yet because the club is still competing on all fronts. Additionally, he said that Barca will compete for all titles and he still has high expectations and hopes in the club.
“If Barcelona don’t win titles, there are always consequences. We’d need to take decisions. But the reality now is that we’re alive in all the competitions”.
“We will compete to win all possible titles, I’m optimistic. My expectations are still the same”, he told MD.
It should be noted that Xavi won the La Liga title last season which had eluded the La Braugrana for four gears since Messi’s departure. However, he’s come under increasing pressure this season especially from fans.
This has largely been down to inconsistent results in the League and the Champions league. Despite finishing top of their UCL Group and sitting 7 points off the top in La Liga, Culers think, this is not enough from their team. They definitely want total domination as was under the Pep and Luis Enrique eras.
