Erling Halaand suffers setback. Manchester City striker, Erling Halaand has suffered a setback in his injury recovery. And his return period has been prolonged according to Pep Guardiola.
The Spaniard said that the Norwegian will likely return to training in Abu Dhabi and probably make his return to playing for the Citizens at the end of this month.
‘Erling Haaland sustained “a little bit” of a setback in his recovery from a foot injury, says Pep Guardiola.
“He’s fine. He will restart maybe in Abu Dhabi and hopefully at the end of this month he’ll be ready…”.
Halaand has been out of action since December 6 following Manchester City’s defeat to Aston Villa. The 23 year old suffered a foot injury.
Apparently, the reigning EPL golden boot winner has so far scored 19 goals in 22 club games this season. Halaand wasn’t in contention for today’s Premier League clash against Newcastle.
He might also miss the FA CUP against Tottenham and the end of month EPL game against Burnley. Meanwhile the champions will also be without Swiss defender Manuel Akanji for almost the same time.
