Mo Salah comes under pressure after. The captain of the Egypt national team, Mohammed Salah has come under heavy social media pressure after reports that he’s set to return to Liverpool amidst the AFCON campaign going on.

It should be recalled that the 31 year old suffered an injury in the Pharaohs 2-2 Group B game against Ghana. Reports now indicate that Mo Salah will head back to Liverpool as part of his rehabilitation program.

Apparently, the same reports had earlier Indicated that he would miss the AFCON record champions last group stage game against Cape Verde. Additionally, he’s expected to miss two games, with the other being the quarterfinals.

This will only be so if the North African country qualifies out of the group states. They will play today against group leaders Cape Verde in a must win. According to the group standings, Egypt needs to win to secure automatic qualification. Cape Verde has already qualified as they have won all two of their games.

If Egypt doesn’t win and a win happens between Ghana and Mozambique, then the Pharaohs won’t get out of the group. Meanwhile Liverpool and Egypt held talks about letting Salah go for treatment.

Speaking about the game with Cape Verde, Salah said the most important thing is to secure qualification. Having been a runner up with Egypt on two occasions, he badly wants to win something with his country.

“I have won everything possible but not this one yet. It will happen somehow, that is what I believe, and whatever I believe I achieve, so sooner or later it will happen.

“Everybody knows what it means to any player to win an Africa Cup. We were unlucky at the last one and also in Gabon. The players are very motivated to win the tournament. We all want to win it.”
