Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal are all on edge regarding the Callum Wilson deal.

January 26, 2024

In the last week of the January transfer season, Newcastle might sell Callum Wilson for as little as £18 million, as Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal have all been informed of his availability.

Three teams are in the market for a striker, and there is currently a proven Premier League goalscorer available.

Newcastle, which has spent almost £400 million since being acquired by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund in 2021, needs to generate funds to make sure they adhere to Premier League profit and sustainability regulations.

Wilson is a sellable asset who has 46 goals in 102 games for Newcastle, and his availability might make for an interesting tale in the last week of what has January has been a calm month. Bayern Munich is interested in Kieran Trippier, but Newcastle has turned down multiple offers from the German powerhouse, holding out for £20 million for the former Tottenham right-back.

The 31-year-old has made 215 Premier League games and scored 86 goals in all.

Wilson had previously had discussions with Atletico Madrid, but he is aiming to be included in the England squad for Euro 2024 and does not want to take the chance of moving abroad to back up Alvaro Morata. The striker has also been connected to AC Milan.

Teams in Saudi Arabia have also expressed interest in Miguel Almiron, although he is hesitant to relocate to the region. Wilson would provide Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal—all of whom have been weighing their options as they look to increase their firepower—a temporary fix.
