Arsenal. As the last chance to sign players before the season ends approaches, the January transfer window is coming to a conclusion, but it could still speed up.
Mikel Arteta seems to have already discounted the chance of Arsenal adding a new player this month, as the team has not yet found a replacement. The Spaniard is worried about his team, though. “We have one of the thinnest squads in the League, that’s for sure, and when you talk about the numbers, especially in certain areas, we are really thin,” he said ahead of the club’s win over Nottingham Forest.
“It wasn’t possible [to do any January deals]. And now we didn’t have the capacity to improve the team in the way that we think we want to improve it, so we decided not to do something yet.”
That hasn’t stopped rumors and reports about potential exits from circulating, though. This month, Mike Biereth left on loan to Sturm Graz, and Kido Taylor Hart and Alex Kirk joined Bromley on loan till the end of the season. The Gunners have already called up Marquinhos and Omar Rekik. There might still be more movement to come.
