March 31, 2024
Today, winger Abdu Lumala finalized his transfer to NK Slaven Belupo of the Croatian premier division. After his contract with the Vipers was terminated a month ago, Lumala signed with Belupo as a free agent.
With the Croatian club, the Cranes forward has participated in two friendlies while awaiting clearance that was received this week. Lumala promises to repay the confidence placed in him and expresses his eagerness to get started.
” I can’t wait to play in the Croatian league, which is extremely competitive and difficult. I am my own biggest critic, so I will do my best at all times to repay the club for the trust shown..” He says after putting pen to paper.
” I’ve been in Koprivnica for three weeks, I’ve also played some friendly matches, so I won’t have any problems adjusting. I would like to thank the guys from the locker room who are excellent and who have really helped me feel at home in these 20 or so days” He adds.
After playing in Sweden for Mjällby AIF, Kalmar FF, Varbergs BoIS, Helsingborgs IF, IFK Värnamo, and Syrianska FC, he is back in Europe. It should be mentioned that Lumala’s assistant coach at Pyramids FC in Egypt was Roy Ferenčina, the head coach of Slaven Belupo currently. Lumala is scheduled to make his league debut this Friday at 8 p.m. when Slaven Belupo takes on Osijek. Belupo has 27 points from 27 games played, good for eighth place among the 10 clubs in the standings.
