Denis Omedi of Kitara FC, who signed a contract with the team at the beginning of the previous season, has a year remaining on his contract. According several news sources, Gor Mahia is keen to sign Omedi.

Omedi scored 14 goals in the league last season, second only to Muhammad Shaban of KCCA FC, who scored 17 goals. He also assisted Kitara in winning their first Stanbic Uganda Cup, defeating NEC FC in the final at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.

Additionally, Omedi played for the Uganda Cranes in the World Cup qualifiers at Mandela National Stadium, where they defeated Botswana and Algeria. Omedi assisted Shaban for the Cranes’ victory against Botswana.

Denis Omedi played for Booma FC before joining Kitara FC. With 22 goals in 2022–2023–he was the FUFA Big League’s top scorer.

Last season, Gor Mahia won the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) for the 21st time in the team’s history, thanks to the guidance of former Uganda Cranes head coach Jonathan McKinstry, who left to join Namibia following the victory.
