Fred Amaku of Maroons FC and Kitara FC, the winners of the Stanbic Uganda Cup, have reached an agreement. After his contract with Maroons FC expires, Amaku will become a free agent and sign a one-year contract with Kitara.
Fred Amaku, who came from Busoga United (formerly Kirinya Jinja SS), was the top scorer for the Maroons in the previous season with 12 goals in the league. Additionally, Kitara has finalized the signing of Ronald Otti, a defender from BUL FC, on a one-year contract.
Last season, Kitara finished fourth in the Uganda Premier league table with 54 points, and they also won the Stanbic Uganda Cup trophy after defeating NEC FC in the final at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
Their victory in the Stanbic Uganda Cup gave them the right to represent Uganda in the CAF Confederation Cup the following season.
