Uganda Cranes footballer Aziz Kayondo has joined FC Slovan Liberec of the Czech Republic’s First League. The leftback signed a four-year work contract to join the Czech side.
He began playing for MFK Vyskov, a second-tier club in the Czech Republic, earlier this year after joining on a six-month loan from Leganes in Spain.
The Ugandan left back played for Hapoel Tel Aviv for the first half of the previous season before moving to MFK Vyskov.
In 2022, Kayondo departed from Vipers and played for Real Monarchs in the United States. His new team, Slovan Liberec, was established 66 years ago and is among the most successful in the Czech Republic, having won three league titles and one domestic Cup.
Under Radoslav Kováč’s management, the club finished ninth out of 16 teams in the previous season’s Czech First League, with Stadion u Nisy, Liberec, seating 9,900 spectators.
