Roberto Oliveira Goncalves do Carmo, also known as “Robertinho,” was previously the Brazilian head coach of the Vipers, has been reappointed as the head coach of Rayon Sports as of the 2024–2025 season.
Once his coaching responsibilities at Simba SC in Tanzania were terminated in November of last year, Robertinho became a free agent.
His contract ended last month, and he took over for Frenchman Julien Mette, who quit the team.
Having won the Rwanda Premier League and led Rayon Sports to the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinals, Robertinho made a lasting impression on the team during the 2018–19 campaign.
His first assignment will be to try to halt the league winning streak of APR FC. The financially supported Army team has won the league five times in a row.
Former SC Villa striker Charles Bbaale currently resides in Rayon Sports, while goalie Simon Tamale left the team when his contract expired in the previous campaign.
