Matthijs de Ligt, a defender from Bayern Munich, has decided to join Manchester United. He and right-back Noussair Mazraoui will travel to the UK on Monday to do their medicals.
With an initial payment of €45 million (£38.6 million) and additional payments of €5 million (£4.3 million), the De Ligt agreement is estimated to be valued at €50 million (£42.9 million).
De Ligt would have to register by Thursday at noon in order to be eligible for Friday’s live stream of Manchester United vs. Fulham, the team’s Premier League opener on Sky Sports.
Since moving from Juventus to Bayern Munich, the 24-year-old has played 73 games and scored five goals in his two seasons there.
De Ligt also played for Ajax, who won the Eredivisie in 2019 under Erik ten Hag, the manager of Man Utd.
It is anticipated that Manchester United would be paid approximately £15 million for the former right-back from Crystal Palace.
Mazraoui appears to be Wan-Bissaka’s replacement after Manchester United and Bayern Munich reached a £17.2 million agreement for the Morocco international.
