Daniel Shabena has finished his comeback to Express FC, as reported by Sportlight on FUFA TV.
After his contract with the recently promoted Mbale Heroes team expired at the end of the previous season, Shabena became a free agent.
The obsessive center midfielder is back with Express, where he spent four years playing from 2018 to 2022.
Together with Express, Shabena won the CECAFA Kagame Cup and the Uganda Premier League in 2021.
To begin with, Shabena made his Premier League debut in the 2014–15 campaign with the now-defunct KJT Rwenshama.
He continued to play for JMC Hippos and BUL FC, two Jinja-based teams, as well as the Uganda Hippos (U-20).
After joining Mbale Heroes in 2023, he helped the team win a promotion to the top division at the conclusion of the previous campaign.
He was responsible for one of the two goals that Mbale Heroes scored against Onduparaka in their 2-1 victory, which sealed the club’s promotion.
As previously reported, Express FC has already signed striker Sam Ssenyonjo, Emmanuel Alex Wasswa, and Derrick Ngoobi.
