Strasbourg. Rayane Messi, 17, a highly regarded prospect from National 1 side Dijon FCO, has officially joined RC Strasbourg. The club has stated that he will be integrating Les Alsaciens’ academy for the forthcoming campaign.
Messi has been the subject of a lot of discussion. The name has helped with that, but in his four professional games, he has already showed enough potential to catch the attention of some of the best clubs in France. Olympique de Marseille had been interested in him, but they were finally turned off by Dijon’s €4 million asking price.
Then, the asking price was significantly reduced; according to Mohamed Toubache-Ter, Messi will now join Strasbourg for about €1.2 million (bonuses included). The BlueCo-owned team revealed that the forward will integrate the club’s development side before to the forthcoming campaign, having joined RCSA on the cheap. The three-year contract that the France U17 international winger inked with RCSA will keep him with the team through the summer of 2027.
