Buganda Masaza Match Day 7 Concluded

Over the weekend, match day seven of the coveted Buganda Masaza Cup competition for 2024 got underway.

On Saturday and Sunday, nine different playgrounds hosted games.

With a close 1-0 loss to Ssese on Saturday, three-time winners Mawokota in the Masengere Group experienced yet another setback.

For Ssese, Jordan Ariaka scored the game-winning goal.

Mawokota entered the match fresh off a 1-0 loss to their neighbors Busujju at home. Mawokota’s prospects of making it to the quarterfinals are in jeopardy after their loss to Ssese.

Within the same group, Kabula easily defeated Buvuma 2-1; the latter team’s score came from an own goal by Samuel Nantajja and Edwin Aguma. For Buvuma, Derrick Ssemugoma scored.

Eddie Bulwanyi and Shakibu Mayanja scored goals for their respective teams in a 1-1 draw between Busujju and Busiro, splitting the spoils.

Ssingo, the two-time competition winners, defeated Kyaggwe 1-0 on the road to go to the Muganzirwaza group quarterfinals.

The game’s lone goal was scored in the second half by Ibrahim Ssengooba.

Gomba and Kooki drew 1-1, with goals from Alex Kiiza and Joseph Ondago for each team, respectively.

The game between Mawogola and Buwekula was called off in the second half because of pitch invasions by fans. When the game was stopped, Buwekula was ahead.

In the Bulange group game, Buluuli and Bulemeezi split the spoils after a thrilling four-goal contest. Buluuli’s goals came from Abdul Salam and Robert Ssewanyana, while Bulemeezi’s came from James Tekakwo and Ronald Obed.

With a narrow 1-0 victory over Butambala, Buddu got back to winning ways. Martin Nsubuga scored the game’s lone goal in the second half.

In the other Bulange group match, Kyadondo and Bugerere tied 1-1. The hosts Bugerere’s Henry Wamala scored a goal, and Kyaddondo’s Marvin Praise Wambuga the lead. Buganda Masaza Cup
