In the last two weeks of the transfer window, Arsenal may have a new opportunity to sign long-term target Ilkay Gundogan. After the midfielder’s Manchester City contract expired last summer, there were earlier rumors that the Gunners were interested in him.
The German international chose to sign with Spanish powerhouse Barcelona in spite of Mikel Arteta’s desire.
Even though the 33-year-old has only finished his debut season at Camp Nou, he may soon be leaving.
According to recent sources, Gundogan is free to leave Barcelona during the summer transfer window, which might lead to a deal.
It’s unclear if Arsenal will pique their interest in Gundogan again after losing out on him the first time.
