The Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku will host the league games for SC Villa, the champions of the Uganda Premier League.
This is in line with their former, unsuccessful intention to host from Mandela National Stadium.
Sources state that the record holders returned to Wankulukuku because Namboole proved to be too costly.
A fortnight ago, SC Villa hosted Ethiopia’s CBE at Namboole as part of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
After the Jogoos charged $50,000 for entry, the stadium was almost empty as people fled.
Villa has called Wankulukuku home for the previous two seasons.
After 33 years, SC Villa’s opponents Express have moved out of Wankulukuku and will be playing their home games at the renovated Nakivubo Stadium.
