Libya sacks former Cranes coach Micho

September 18, 2024

Libya’s national team coach Milutin Sredojevic, also known as Micho, was fired from his position as head coach of the Uganda Cranes.
With only a few weeks remaining before Libya’s 2025 AFCON doubleheader versus Nigeria, the well travelled coach was fired.

In October of last year, the Serbian strategist took over as Libya’s temporary head coach from Salim Al-Jalali.

Libya drew at home with Rwanda in the opening round of the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers, losing 2-1 to Benin.

They have only earned one point from their first two games and are currently bottom of Group D.

Next month, Libya will first visit Nigeria before hosting the rematch in Tripoli a few days later.

Among his former managerial positions are those of SC Villa, Al Hilal of Sudan, Yanga Africans of Tanzania, Saint George of Ethiopia, Rwanda national team, head coach of Yugoslavia U20, Orlando Pirates of South Africa, Zamalek of Egypt, Zambia national team, and Uganda Cranes.
