Nakivubo Stadium gets International Accreditation from FIFA

Nakivubo stadium. FIFA’s esteemed certification has been obtained by Kampala’s Hamz Stadium Nakivubo War Memorial, opening the door for both domestic and international football events. On Monday, October 7, businessman Hamis Kiggundu, also referred to as Ham, declared the achievement.
FIFA’s strict requirements have been met by the cutting-edge Duofilament Mono football grass, which was placed by the reputable Turkish company Nurteks Hali Sen.Ve Tic. A.S.
“FIFA Quality Programme for Football Turf” standards. According to FIFA, “The football turf system Duofilament Mono has been installed… and certified to the ‘FIFA QUALITY PROGRAMME FOR FOOTBALL TURF – FIFA QUALITY’ standard.”
Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, approved the certification, which is good from October 4, 2024, to October 3, 2027. This accomplishment raises Uganda’s profile in international football and improves Hamz Stadium’s repute.
“FIFA is pleased to confirm that… the installation has been tested and certified” to international standards, according to the FIFA certificate. This acknowledgment makes it possible for the stadium to hold elite games.
The certified turf is prepared to host various football events, offering local talent with opportunity to play on FIFA-approved fields and inviting international teams to Kampala. For the 2024–2025 season, three Uganda Premier League teams have already applied to use the stadium as their home field.
