Lugazi FC, a team in the Uganda Premier League, has officially announced Stephen Bogere as their new head coach.
Sadiq Sempigi was fired after just five games as head coach, and the new coach takes his position.
The club has declared via its official social media channels that Bogere has been given a one-year job contract.
“We are delighted to announce Mr.Stephen Bogere as the club’s new head coach.”
“The experienced tactician has signed a one year employment contract with us and begins his new role effective Friday October 25,2024.”
This comes after Lugazi was unable to agree on a monthly payment with David Obua, the former head coach of URA FC.
After Sempigi left, Lugazi was temporarily managed by Oliver Mbekeka, who earlier this week guided the team to their first Premier League victory against Express FC.
Bogere has previously served as a coach at SC Villa, the now-defunct Victoria University, UPDF, Onduparaka, Proline FC, Buddu, and Mawokota in the Masaza Cup competition.
Lugazi FC has five points from six games and is currently in 13th place.
On Wednesday, October 30, Bogere’s first game will be against NEC FC at Lugazi FC Stadium.
