The Uganda Premier League (UPL) Secretariat has announced that a moment of silence will be held before the start of all matches this match day eight in memory of Assistant Referee Peter Kabugo, who died last week.
Kabugo collapsed during the 73rd minute of the SC Villa Vs UPDF FC match at Wankulukuku on Friday and subsequently passed away. He was interred at his family home in Buikwe on Sunday. The UPL has united to honor Kabugo in their match day eight games following his passing.
“Uganda Premier League were deeply saddened by the passing of Peter Kabugo who 2nd assistant referee during the SC Villa Vs UPDF FC match that was played on Friday, 1st November 2024. Accordingly, the SUPL will observe a minute of silence to commence on the referee’s whistle at all match day 8 fixtures in memory of the late.” Reads a statement from the Uganda Premier league
