Uganda Cranes Head Coach Paul Put has announced the squad that will compete against South Africa and Congo Brazzaville in the final matches of the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers this month. Uganda aims to secure a spot in next year’s continental tournament as they host South Africa at Mandela National Stadium on November 15, 2024, before traveling to Congo four days later.
Hakim Kiwanuka from SC Villa, who has been performing well this season, has been called up by the Belgian coach. Kiwanuka has scored three league goals thus far this term.
KCCA FC’s goalkeeper Mutwalib Mugolofa, who has achieved six clean sheets in seven league matches, has also been included in the squad.
The selected team will start a residential camp on Sunday at Cranes Paradise in Kisasi, with foreign-based players joining their locally-based counterparts.
Currently, Uganda leads Group K with 10 points, two points ahead of South Africa, while Congo sits at four points. South Sudan remains without any points.
