Kitara FC’s Denis Omedi set to depart the club in January

December 3, 2024

Kitara FC striker Denis Omedi is anticipated to depart from the club during the upcoming January transfer window. Omedi’s current contract with Kitara is set to expire at the conclusion of this season, and he has received offers from teams in Spain, Egypt’s Pyramids FC, and Kenya’s Gor Mahia.

He also attracted interest from clubs in South Africa and Libya during the previous transfer window. The forward was absent during Kitara’s scoreless draw against Vipers SC last weekend at Kitende.

Omedi has yet to find the back of the net in the Uganda Premier League this season, but he had a standout performance in the 2025 AFCON Qualification with the Uganda Cranes, scoring twice. Last season, he netted 14 league goals for Kitara FC, contributing to their victory in the 2024 Stanbic Uganda Cup.

He joined Kitara FC in July of last year after finishing as the top scorer in the FUFA Big League with Booma FC during the 2022/23 season. Omedi was recently recognized by both CAF and FIFA for the goal of the year award, with his stunning Rabona goal against KCCA FC in the FUFA Super 8 garnering him both nominations.
