Kitara FC ended Maroons FC’s strong performance streak with a decisive 4-0 win at Luzira on Thursday.
Before this defeat, Maroons had achieved victories over URA FC, Soltilo Bright Stars, and Mbarara City.
The third victory for Kitara under coach Wasswa Bbosa was fueled by Fred Amaku, Ronald Otti, and two goals from their key striker Jude Ssemugabi.
Amaku, a former player for Maroons FC, opened the scoring for the visitors in the 9th minute, followed closely by Otti who doubled the lead just two minutes later from a corner taken by Kabon Living.
In the 28th minute, Ssemugabi added the third goal after receiving a pass from Frank Tumwesigye Zaga.
Ssemugabi capped off the scoring late in the match.
Kitara has scored 14 goals in four matches without conceding, currently placing them 10th on the leaderboard with 14 points.
Maroons are positioned 7th with 16 points after suffering their second home defeat, having previously lost 3-2 to Wakiso Giants earlier in the season.
Maroons will take on Police FC on Thursday, December 19th, at Kavumba, while Kitara is set to host Wasswa Bbosa’s former club, Express FC, on Saturday, December 21st.
