Allan Okello opens up on terminating contract with Algerian side AC Paradou

December 19, 2024

Allan Okello, an attacker for the Uganda Cranes and Vipers SC, has revealed why he left AC Paradou of Algeria. In a SportsBoom.com interview, he disclosed the causes. Okello returned to KCCA FC and then Vipers SC after joining Paradou in 2020.

“From KCCA to Algeria (in 2020), it wasn’t that hard, as they (Paradou) had got interested when I played against them in the CAF Champions League, so they held discussions and the deal happened. At that point, all was moving to plan.”

“Then, I returned to Uganda at KCCA on loan from Algeria, and played for a season. I was meant to return to Algeria but then I had a knee injury and told Paradou that I needed to stay here for an extended period. At this point, we got issues, and that’s how we figured it all out to reach a termination.”

At the beginning of the 2023–24 season, Okello signed a three-year contract with Vipers SC, the six-time Uganda Premier League champions, following the expiry of his employment contract at AC Paradou. He has scored eight goals in 12 games this season, making him one of the league’s best players. He also played a key role in the Cranes’ 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
