Big UPL clubs progress to the Stanbic Cup Round of 32

Three games at different venues continued the 51st Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 64 on Sunday.With eighteen minutes to normal time, 2022 competition winners BUL FC defeated Garuga Stars thanks to a late goal from Ibrahim Orit.

Orit replaced Martin Aprem as a substitute. Under Alex Isabirye Musongola’s leadership, BUL FC defeated Vipers SC 3-1 in the final at Masindi Municipal Stadium to win the 2022 Uganda Cup trophy.

Thanks to a goal by Ssenfuma in the first half at Namasale Tech Ground, Express FC, the joint record competition winners, defeated Red Devo 1-0 and advanced to the round of 32.

BUL will go to the next round together with Kitara, Express, Vipers, NEC, and Pakwach Young Stars, the current Stanbic Uganda Cup winners. At Bombo Military Grounds, the winners Kitara FC defeated Young Simba in the other match to move on to the round of 32.

The Wasswa Bbosa-coached team’s other goals came from winger Living Kabon and midfielder Titus Ssematimba, who scored a brace. The three-time championship winners Vipers, Pakwach Young Stars, and last year’s runners-up NEC FC are joined in the round of 32 by Stanbic Uganda Cup winners Kitara FC and Express FC.
