Uganda Cranes Coach Paul Put Names Squad for Upcoming World Cup Qualifiers

March 10, 2025

Paul Joseph Put, coach of the Uganda Cranes, has named a 26-man team for the forthcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Guinea and Mozambique. The most prominent returnee is Shaban Muhammad, a striker from Libya who has missed the last four Cranes games because of injury.

Toby Sibbick, a defender for Wigan Athletic, has also been added to the team because of his recent stellar League One performances. In March of last year, Sibbick was a member of the Cranes during their 2-2 draw with Ghana in Morocco.

Rogers Torach, Karim Watambala, Enock Ssebagala, Patrick Jonah Kakande, and Elvis Bwomono have also been included. Uganda will host Guinea in Namboole on Tuesday, March 25, after playing Mozambique on Thursday, March 20, at Cairo International Stadium in Egypt.
