The players have lost confidence- Express coach James Odoch on loss to KCCA

December 10, 2022

2020 Uganda Premier League champions Express FC’s misery continued yesterday as they lost 3-0 to table toppers, KCCA FC.

Goals from Moses Waiswa, a second minute penalty, 69th minute strike from Congolese striker Simon Tshisungu Kankonde and a powerful hit from Charles Lwanga condemned the Red Eagles to their 4th consecutive defeat.

And according to Odoch, his players’ confidence is washed away.

He revealed in his post match press conference that Express is a big club which doesn’t deserve to be where it is.

It’s therefore his responsibility to instill confidence back in the players so that they can get back to winning ways.

“I think players have totally lost confidence and that is one of the reasons we are in this situation players no longer play as they used to play that is one the reasons we keep changing those we field.”

” Express is big club loosing four consecutive games is the hardest moment but we now have to focus on the next game by trying so hard to win against another very organised side Vipers SC home.”

“I am also disappointed we failed even to use our chances I wish Ntege had scored that clear chance may be it would be another story now KCCA used all their chances hence their victory .”

This defeat left Express languishing in the 9th position on 14 points after 12 games.

They have now lost to KCCA, Wakiso Giants, Arua Hill and Soltilo Bright Stars consecutively.

The Mukwano Gwabangi side will have an uphill task to try and resurrect their already damaged season in their next game.

They will host Vipers on Tuesday 13th December at the Muteesa II stadium in Wankulukuku.
