Uganda Premier League table leaders KCCA have announced how the club has terminated one of their player’s, Andrew Kawooya’s contract.
This contract was terminated on mutual consent.
“KCCA FC and player Andrew Kawooya have agreed to terminate contract by mutual consent.”
It should recalled that Kawooya joined the Kasasiro boys on a 5 year deal at the start of 2020-21 season.
He was however later loaned out to UPDF briefly in the 2021-22 season for further development of his career.
Kawooya was very pivotal in the KCCA U20 team which won the Cambiasso and Rainbow trophy in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania in 2022.
Kawooya was named the Most Valuable Player in that tournament.
The attacker who also won the CECAFA U17 cup with Uganda Cubs netted only one goal for the senior KCCA team.
This was against Kitara FC in the 2021-22 season.
Kawooya was also part of the U20 AFCON Ugandan team that finished runners up in Mauritania in 2021.
In the same related incident, Uganda Premier League leaders KCCA unveiled Mustafa Kizza.
He signed a short deal keeping him at KCCA for the remainder of this season.
Mustafa came up through the KCCA ranks as he played for the junior team between 2015 and 2016.
He was later loaned out to Maroons FC but later recalled to the senior KCCA team .
Mustafa featured for the Lugogo based side for 3 years until 2020 when he joined Montreal Impacts.
He however joined Portuguese side FC Arouca but his contract was mutually terminated.
