Startimes Uganda Premier League took action today with the big game that saw SC Villa end NEC FC’s unbeaten run at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
SC Villa edged NEC FC on a 3-0 score with all goals coming in half time.
The Jagoos were unstoppable and seemed to be a better team than Hussein Mbalangu’s coached side.
Umar Lutalo opened the score for SC Villa in the 10th minute when Samson Kirya failed to stop his shoot.
NEC FC couldn’t control the pressure SC Villa imposed following an own goal of John Paul Acire in the 42nd minute.
SC Villa found the third through defender Arnold Odongo who headed in the stoppage minutes.
NEC FC resumed second half a better side in defending though couldn’t overturn the 3-0 score.
It was the first win for SC Villa who had failed in their first two games including a loss to Kitara and a draw to Maroons.
Meanwhile NEC FC were losing their first game in the ongoing season.
The results means SC Villa moved to 7th position with 4 points while NEC FC in 3 rd place with 6 points.
