1. Roger Milla – 503 goals in 905 games

Famed for his corner flag dance celebration in the 1994 World Cup, Roger Milla was a sight to watch. He played for the likes of Monaco, Bastia, Valenciennes, Montpellier among others. Milla represented Cameroon at 3 World Cups and was one of the first African footballers to hit the international stage.

2. Samuel Eto’o – 426 goals in 877 games

Does he need any introduction. Eto’o is without a doubt one of the best goalscorers of our generation. He plyed his trade for the likes of Mallorca, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Chelsea, among others. The Cameroonian is also the AFCON’s top goal scorer.

3. Godfrey Chitalu – 393 goals in 598 games

Not so popular but his goal scoring mercurial will always be one of the greatest from the black man’s continent. Widely regarded as the best Zambian player of all time, he played for Kitwe United and Kabwe Warriors. Chitalu passed away in 1992 aged just 45.

4. Didier Drogba – 365 goals in 791 games

Not a surprise that the Ivorian makes the list as his goalscoring prowess was one of the best. A menace for defenders and goalkeepers, Drogba played for the likes of
Marseille, Chelsea, Shanghai Shenhua, Galatasaray among others.

5. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 338 goals in 688 games

6. Dieumerci Mbokani – 328 goals in 704 games

The Congolese played for teams such as Hull City, Royal Antwerp, Standard Liege, Monaco, Wolfsburg among others. He’s still an active footballer playing for Armenian club FC Noah and is also captain of the DR Congo national team.

7. Mohamed Salah – 318 goals in 652 games The Egyptian is definitely among the best African footballers of all time. He’s played for clubs such as FC Basel, Chelsea, AS Roma, and Liverpool whilst playing for the Egyptian national team. Salah has so far won 3 EPL golden boots.
8. Hossam Hassan – 303 goals

Currently, he’s Egypt’s top goal scorer with 83 goals from 176 appearances. He played for clubs such as Al Ahly, PAOK, Zamalek among others.

9. Asamoah Gyan – 290 goals in 533 games

The Ghanian is another famous African Football player. Asamoah Gyan played for clubs such as Sunderland among others.

10. George Weah – 288 goals in 628 games

The only African player to win a Ballon D’or and this was 1996. He played for teams such as AC Milan. Currently he’s President of Liberia.
