Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard set new record

Arsenal’s forwards Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard have set a new record. This came in the 2-0 win against Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League.
After suffering their first defeat in the league against Newcastle , a controversial one, the Gunners were back to winning at the Emirates.
Just at the hour mark, Jorginho played a brilliant pass for Saka and the Englishman set up Leandro Trossard. The Belgian made no mistake from close range as he gave Mikel Arteta’s side the lead.
The former Brighton and Hove Albion player started the game in the absence of strikers, Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah. Apparently, the Belgian has now netted 5 goals for Arsenal and surprisingly all of these have been assigned by Bukayo Saka.
Besides, these assists also make the 22 year old Hale End academy graduate the top assist provider by a Premier League player in the current season. Trossard’s goals have either been the opener (3 times) or an equaliser (2 occasions).
These goals have been against PSV, Everton, Chelsea, Sevilla, and against Manchester City in the Community Shield. However, Trossard on the other hand has provided one assist for Saka. This is in the 11 he’s so far provided for Arsenal since arriving in January.
Speaking about the goal, the 29 year old Belgian said that “When I saw Jorgi on the ball, I just knew he would put it in behind for B. And I had to be there in front of goal,” he told TNT Sport.
“B put it on a plate for me and I had to score it, so it’s a great team goal and it set us off for the rest of the game.”
Saka got the second for the Gunners with a brilliant finish after a brilliant pass from Gabriel Martinelli. They now sit top of their Group with 9 points.
They will need to avoid defeat against RC Lens in the next game in order to qualify for the groupstages.
Apparently Saka is the first Arsenal player to score and assist in consecutive home games in the Champions League. This is since Cesc Fabregas against Sevilla and Slavia Prague in 2007/08.
